She was born and raised in New Rockford, ND. After graduating from high school, Vida received a degree in commercial art and graphic design in Alexandria & Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. She returned to North Dakota and became a free lance commercial artist.
China Painting began as a hobby in 1981 and quickly blossomed into a home based profession. As a member and a past officer of the Mid State Porcelain Artists' Guild and the World Organization of China Painters, she is involved in demonstrations, shows of china and china painting, and teaching seminars on china painting.
Vida's Collectibles originated in 1990. As a member of Pride of Dakota, she currently markets a line of hand painted china to gift stores throughout the state. Her pieces are in collections across the US and many foreign countries.
Vida currently resides in Underwood, ND with her husband, Jerome.
